Rory now offers a three-tier tailored suit service. No matter which service you choose, all patterns are cut and all suits are fitted by Rory and his team.
Your measurements, your patterns and your fittings will be conducted by Rory and his team at his workshop in Monaghan.
Since Rory's return to Ireland in 2016 he has been training a local team in the tailoring techniques he learned by apprenticing with Savile Row's founding company Henry Poole's & co. Together they offer a fully handcrafted bespoke suit made in his Monaghan based workshop.
Rory was invited to China in 2012 to train a tailors workshop in traditional Savile Row tailoring techniques. James Zhang, owner of HNY in Shenzhen, contacted Rory through his YouTube channel and asked him to visit his workshop and share his tailoring skills.
What started as a six week training period turned into a regular annual trip to China where Rory has helped advise James in every aspect of his tailoring company.
James not only adopted Rory's tailoring techniques but also his style and fit too.
The suits made in James' workshop are indistinguishable from those made by Rory, making him the perfect partner in his custom suit business.
Custom Suit Entry-level
A custom suit is the next level up from 'Ready to Wear'. The client can choose from a range of cloth, linings and styling details. The measurements taken at the initial consultation are translated into a paper pattern made by Rory and sent to James in Shenzhen. Together with the styling details and fabric selection, the suit is made up and sent back to Rory within six weeks. Any further tweaks in the fitting are resolved by Rory and his team in Monaghan.
A Bespoke Suit
Your suit will begin its making process in Rory's workshop. The cloth will be selected from a wide range of luxury fabrics milled in the UK. Within three weeks of your initial consultation, you will be invited back to Rory's workshop for the first fitting of your bespoke suit. The suit will be "basted" with long white hand stitches that hold the "skeleton" of the suit together for the fitting process. From there, the suit will be remarked from the fitting and sent to James for the final construction. Approximately six weeks later the suit will be returned to Rory for a final fitting after which Rory and his team will add the buttonholes and buttons.
Bench Made Bespoke
The world spins at a faster pace now than when Savile Row was at its epicentre. While maintaining the essence and integrity of handcraft, we can offer a suit made using modern tailoring techniques. These garments are solely made in-house by Rory and his team. They follow the three fitting rules set out by the Masters of Savile Row to ensure that fit and style are met in equal measure. No garment leaves Rory's workshop without passing under his watchful eye. The whole process takes approximately eight weeks. Every element and detail must meet his high standards before any client will see his creation.
A Handcraft Suit
Handcraft is handmade and by that, we mean "hand-stitching". Thousands of them make up a handcrafted suit. Following the traditional sewing techniques synonymous with Savile Row, Rory and his team make up the whole suit in-house. Drawn from years of training with Savile Rows founders Henry Poole's, Rory trained with the best to make the highest quality suit money can buy. Choose from a range of super 150's cloths from merchants like Scabal and Doremuil. We are easily satisfied by the best of everything and only the best finds its way into a handcrafted suit. With this level of detail of fit and finish, you can expect the process to be a slow progression. It can take up to twelve weeks to deliver a handcrafted suit.
